Artist's Statement

As an artist I have always been inspired by the human figure. The human form can be found throughout most, if not all, of my art. I work primarily with acrylic paint, but have experimented with all types of medium; graphic design, illustration, printmaking, 3D design, and jewelry making. The body of work you see is a breadth collection, not a part of a concentration, but they are connected through their focus on the human form.

Self Portrait

(50”x38”) oil on brown paper. This self portrait is a fingerpainting using homemade oil paints. It is meant to portray the beauty in brown, brown paper, brown skin, brown hair. This work is a celebration in the natural beauty I find in African American, and black people.
